A Camera to Cloud alternative for any FTP camera

Frame.io Camera to Cloud works with cameras and devices from its partners. FDD Transfers takes clips from any camera that sends over FTP or SFTP, and downloads them to the editor’s drive as they arrive.

The short version

  1. Any FTP camera, Sony included

Sony isn’t on Frame.io’s list of cameras with Camera to Cloud built in, so a Sony body needs an external encoder such as Teradek or Atomos. Here, the FX3 sends its own proxies over FTP.

  2. Straight to the editor’s drive

Pick a folder on the editor’s computer, and new files download into it as they arrive. It only adds files and never deletes anything there.

  3. Pay for storage, not people

Frame.io charges per member: $15 a month on Pro (up to 5) and $25 on Team (up to 15). FDD Transfers starts at $17 a month for 500 GB, with as many people as you like.
