Who we are
FDD Transfers (“the service”) is run by Film District Parties & Private Functions Filming, trading as Film District Dubai, a sole establishment licensed by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (licence 606867), at Al Makateb Building, Office 117, 1st Floor, Al Quoz 3, PO Box 64971, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We decide how your personal data is used, and we follow the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021).
Questions about your data: info@filmdistrictdubai.com.
What we collect
- Your account: email address and name. If you sign in with Google, also your Google profile picture.
- What you put in: the files you and your cameras upload, project names and dates, folders, notes, and the people you share with (their email addresses).
- From cameras: file names, sizes and the details a camera writes into its clips (such as timecode, model and settings), and the address a camera connects from.
- Payments: your plan, invoices and billing status. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Use of the service: activity in your projects (who added, downloaded or deleted what, and when), sign-ins, and technical logs such as IP address and browser, kept for security and to fix problems.
Download to drive keeps the folder you pick on your own computer, in your browser. The folder and its contents are never sent to us.
How we use it
- To run the service: store and deliver your files, sign you in, and show you and the people you share with what’s in a project.
- To bill you for a plan, and keep the records the law asks for.
- To email you about your account: sign-in codes, invitations, storage running out, payments and changes to these terms. We don’t send marketing email.
- To keep the service secure and working: stop abuse, investigate errors, and plan capacity.
- To measure our own Google ads: we tell Google Ads when an ad led to a sign-up or a payment, and how much was paid. We don’t put Google’s ad tags or tracking scripts on our pages.
We use your data because we need it to provide the service you asked for, to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in keeping the service safe and knowing which of our ads work. We don’t sell it, and we don’t use your files for advertising or to train AI models.
Who processes it
These companies process data for us, only to provide the service:
- Cloudflare: hosting, file storage and databases.
- DigitalOcean: the servers cameras send files to.
- Stripe: payments and invoices.
- Resend: sending our emails.
- Google: if you choose to sign in with Google; and to measure our ads, Google Ads gets your email address in hashed form (scrambled so it can only be matched, not read), the ad’s click ID if you came from an ad, and when you signed up or paid and how much.
Some of them store or process data outside the UAE (for example in the European Union, India or the United States). Where that happens, we rely on their data protection terms to keep it safe. We may also disclose data when the law requires it.
The people you share a project with can see its files, and the names and email addresses of others in it.
How long we keep it
- Files stay until you delete them. Deleted files, folders and projects stay in Trash for 14 days, then go for good.
- If your account is over its storage or unpaid, your projects become read-only, and after 14 days their files are deleted.
- If you delete your account, it’s kept for 14 days in case you change your mind: signing in again lets you restore it or start fresh. After that, your projects, files and cameras are deleted, and your name and email are removed from our records.
- Deleted cameras and their settings files stay in Trash for 14 days, then go for good.
- Invoices and payment records are kept as long as tax law requires, even after an account is deleted.
- Technical logs are kept for a short time, normally no more than 90 days.
- Ad measurement records are sent to Google Ads for 90 days after a sign-up or payment, and deleted with your account.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, get a copy, restrict or object to how we use it, or have it deleted. You can delete your account yourself from the account menu. To keep your sign-up and payments out of our ad measurement, email us. For anything else, email info@filmdistrictdubai.com; we reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the UAE Data Office.
Cookies and storage in your browser
We use only what the service needs to work, plus one cookie to measure our own ads. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
- Sign-in cookie (
fdd_session): keeps you signed in. - Database cookie (
d1b): makes sure you see your own latest changes. - Ad click cookie (
fdd_ad): only if you arrive from one of our Google ads. Keeps the ad’s click ID for 90 days, so a sign-up or payment can be counted for that ad. - Browser storage: your preferences (such as grid or list view) and the folders you chose for Download to drive.
Children
The service is for businesses and professionals. It isn’t meant for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll email account owners before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
