01 Join the Wi-Fi
Press MENU, open the Network tab, and choose Wi-Fi.
Check Wi-Fi Connect is On, then choose Access Point Set.
Pick your Wi-Fi, or your phone’s hotspot.
Select Password, type the Wi-Fi password, and choose OK on the keypad. Then choose OK.
On the keypad, press a key again to step through its letters (abc twice for b); → moves on to the next letter.
It says Completed. Press the centre button (OK).
On set without Wi-Fi? Turn on your phone’s hotspot and join that. Proxies are small; full-size clips use a lot of data.
02 Connect to our server
Press MENU, open the Network tab, choose FTP Transfer, then FTP Transfer Func.
Choose FTP Function, then On.
It says a transfer destination hasn’t been set yet. Choose OK.
Choose Server Setting.
Choose Server 1.

Choose Secure Protocol, then On.

Choose Root Certificate Error, then Connect.
The camera can’t check our certificate by itself. The connection is still encrypted.
It warns that the root certificate can’t be checked. Choose OK.
Leave Port at 21, and choose OK.
Choose Directory Settings.
Leave Specify Directory empty, Directory Hierarchy on Standard and Same File Name on Overwrite. Choose OK.
The app decides which project and folder clips go to. Overwrite keeps a clip sent twice from showing twice.
Choose User Info Settings.
Choose User, type this user name, and choose OK on the keypad.
Shown in the appChoose Password, type this password, and choose OK on the keypad.
Shown in the appChoose OK.
Back on Server 1, choose OK.
The box under FTP Transfer Func. shows the connection. “Failed to connect to an FTP server” means a setting is off: check the Port (21), Secure Protocol (On), user name and password.
03 Record proxies and send them by themselves
Turn on proxies: MENU → Shooting → Image Quality/Rec → Proxy Setting → Proxy Recording: On.
The camera records a small copy of every clip. Only the copy goes over the air; the original stays on the card.
In FTP Transfer Func., go to page 2 and set Auto FTP Transfer to On.
Choose Auto FTP Target: tick Still Image and Movie, pick All, then choose Enter.
On page 3, set Transfer Target to Proxy Only and FTP Power Save to Off.
Upload the originals from the card afterwards: they match up with the proxies by name. Power Save off keeps it connected between takes.
